I think my truck is leaking tranny fluid
alright guys well i got home today from class and my step dad tells me i think your truck is leaking oil since where i park there a numerous drops of oil. so i go look under the truck and it looks like its from the tranny. i assume its the the tranny fluid. its not leaking from where i put the sender in for the gauge so thats good. is looks like its leaking from where the pan connects. the sealant or whatever it is looks like its coming off. ill get pics here in a sec. what do i need to do? thanks
Could it be running down from where your sending unit is to the pan? I'd dry everything off and let it sit for a while and see if it really is dripping from both locations, one may just be residual spray from driving and it dripping.
I would spray degreaser all over the tranny and pressure wash it off and let it dry. Then the real leak will show up.
What type of RTV sealant did you use and did you torque the pan right away? Your suppose to let RTV set-up before you torque the pan or it will all squeeze out. That's why I'm always pushing people to get this stuff. Sets up instantly. Torque and go. I've never had a leaking issue with this stuff.

Where is that top tap (the small one) in location to the trans? Is it up front or in the back or on the side? It looks like that is your main leak but I cant tell if it is possible for it to drip to a spot where it can cause residual spray under the pan.
