for some reason dusting sounds very feminine. especaily when saying dusting truck. and especially dusting trucks engine.

well anyways i dont really clean the engine much. but i do make sure my wheel wells are clean. i use this sand paper thats wrapped around a sponge and it gets all the dirt off. it compliments the rims and tires

common guys...

When I wash the truck, and want to do a good job, i grab some degreaser and give the engine compartment a good spray. Just stay away from the alternator when spraying. I usually try to make sure the motor is warm so that the grease breaks up a little better. then I wash it off with the hose afte it has set for a minute. Make sure to wash all bubbles and residue off the paint!

When your done washing the truck, and getting ready to dry, spry it down with armor all, and when your completely done, you will have a sparkling compartment.

BTW all you wash *****... I do this because I like to have a clean engine bay to watch for leaks and what not. I try to clean at least once a month...

04-fourseven has it covered. You will find some threads on this but you can use either Purple Power or Simple Green to spray on thier first and then wash it down. It is a good practice to cover the PCM and alternator with a plastic walmart bag or something. Just dont spray the engine afterwards with Armorall and then go down a dirt road........LOL

Personally, I only clean up the truck when it's be out playing, just to make sure mud, sand, and salt isn't wearing on drivetrain and suspension components. A good powerwashing will take of that, as for the rest of the truck, it rains plenty to take care of itself.

I clean my entire engine bay once a week. It's open for shows every week though.

I dont cover mine although I know it is good practice to do. However, actually washing mine off I usually do crank it up and let it run a few mins to make sure it dries faster.
