Default HIDs in the Hella 500s

Has anyone done this? I was talking to HIDExtra yesterday and they have a kit for the H3 lights. Just wondering how the install was.....

I am thinking about switching to the Hella 500ff - they are free form like a normal headlight. The regular 500 is such a direct spotlight beam.

When you do a switch on those hellas to the HID's you have to switch the fuse out, you would have to ask the company what size fuse to run to your hid's though, as some are different, but 20 amp is the size that mine have to run on

I've done the HIDs in the Hella 500s. It was easy as can be. Make the hole where the wires are a little bigger for your Hid light, then silicone that hole up. Then all that's left is actually mounting like you would an HID.

What all do you want to see pics of? I didn't think to take pics of the install, but I have a few.

Thumbs up

Sounds like a great idea; how would this compare to the Hella Rallye HID 4000 Lights? I know they are bright but $$$ too!

Mine shine about a half mile ahead of me also, but I have them angled down as far as my bull bar will allow. There is a very strong concentration of light about 150 feet in front of me. If I would turn them up, they would go a little farther ahead.
