Default Power Steering POS. Help?

I have a 06 MegaCab with the hemi. It has 42000 miles. The power steering pump went out about a week ago. $50 for one at napa. No big deal. Since then I can not get it to stop leaking. The plastic Resivior has to be the dumbest set up I have ever seen. There is nothing to hold it in.

Anytime I go full lock, i.e. making a U turn the thing blows fluid all over. The fluid is coming from where the plastic res meets the pump. I have pulled it apart twice and replaced o-rings, etc. Am i missing something? 2 bottle of lucas leak stop did not work either.

It seems the system has to much pressure for the design. When it is a little hot it has enough pressure backed up to make taking the lid off tricky. It usually has enough pressure to shoot the cap a good 2 inches up.

Any thoughts. Dealership wants close to $400 to fix. That pisses me off as it is 3 bolts on the pump and 4 for the res.

Any help is great. I talked with a guy who has a lift and bigger tires. he has replced teh pump 3 times in 3 years.

I think all you can do is replace it but you already know that. I dont see a lot of threads with guys having lots of PS issues. I havent had any (knock on wood).

My pump went out twice. I've been driving with crapped pump for about two months. Its weird though, when I first start it up, it works fine. Then half hour later it squeels like crazy. I said the hell with it. Fix it later.

I always check everything on and under mine when I am under there to change the oil. I just got my Fumoto oil valve in so Ill be under there again soon and will check over everything again. The LAST thing I want to see from anything is a leak from ANYTHING.
