I replaced mine in my drivers door. It is not a dealer type job trust me. Just take and screws loose for the window tract and the screws out of the door actuator. Those plastic pieces that hold the rods in place just snap on the rods and hold them. They are easy to get off. The electrical harness on the actuator is nothing special and comes off easily. Just loosen and remove those screws, remove the harness, take the rods out and remove the actuator assembly.

Did you have a drawing of it? A lot of it I cannot see and have to hold a mirror inside the door cavity to see it. Is it all unbolted and from within the door? I wanted to be sure I didn't have to remove the three bolts from the door's jamb.

You will have to remove the two bolts to loosen and provide clearance to get the door lock actuator out. The actuator itself is held in place by the 3 bolts in the side on the door where the latch is visible.

The window tract bolts are in yellow while the latch bolts are in green. There i\are no bolts to take loose from inside the door. Only the rods and harness.

Here is an attachment from my AllData for you to look at and go over. Hopefully it will help.

Thank you so much for the pdf. It will be very helpful. So the door latch is the actuator, or the actuator is separate part of the latch?

I envisioned the actuator being bolted to the latch with the latch remaining in place and the actuator unbolting from the latch and from within the door.

I think I get it now. Funny the pdf doesn't mention moving the window track stuff.

How long did this take you and did you run into any difficulties?

How long it takes depends on how big or small your hands are. The door lock actuator, latch and door ajar switch are all built into that one unit.

Weedahoe, any chance you could publish a pdf for the drivers side rear door? I am having a similar problem in that the lock does move freely by hand but does not work with the fob or power lock button.

Thanks!

Drisok, sounds like an electrical problem, maybe a fuse or relay. That'd be my first guess. Too bad i didn't see this thread back in March. I had the same problem and had to replace my door lock actuator/latch. Other than having to hold a mirror to line all the rods up, it wasn't bad at all.

They are all the same. Pull the door skin, take out the bolts on the doors side for the window tract and actuator. Take loose the rods and harness, Swap out the actuator and put it all back together. However, if you do really want or need the AllData info, just LMK.
