Default Drivers door power lock stuck in locked position

I have searched the site for this issue and did not find a close match. On my 2005 Ram, three out of four power door locks work fine but my issue is the drivers door. This power door lock is "stuck" in the locked (down) position. It will not unlock using the key fob, the power door lock button on the door. It also cannot be unlocked manually by trying to pull up on the **** from the inside. If you reef very hard on the key, it will lift the **** up high enough to unlock from the outside but I don't want to risk busting the key off.

The only way to open the door without resistence is by the inside door handle.

I haven't seem this problem before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

maybe the rod on the inside of the door is caught on something? when i put new speakers in my rear doors the rod was getting hooked on the magnet of the speaker. i did a little trimming and situating and it works fine now. hope that helps...

I will look for that when I remove the door panel this morning. So this may be more of a mechanical issue than an electrical issue?

I would thik more mechanical than electrical because if it were electrical then it that lock solenoid would have to be constantly energized v/s mechanically stuck.

That sounds easier to fix. So you think that if it was the solenoid, the lock **** should freely pull up and down?

I removed the door panel and nothing appears loose, binding or disconnected.
Any further ideas I hope??

If you removed the door skin and tried to pull up and down on the door lock and nothing moved nor was binding against anything then it is time for a new door lock actuator as it is frozen for whatever reason.

Looking at all the rods and snap keepers, it looks like a job for the dealer. Has anyone done this replacement?
