make sure they're E rated.
I cant understand why you'd put mud tires on a 20" rim though. Not enough sidewall to protect the wheel. You cant fit more than a 33 without a lift. IMO, the sidewalls on 33 with 17" rims are too short.

Just put 55/305-20 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my 02 Single cab 1500 4x4. I cranked the torsion bars up to level out the front end, and had the front end alligned when I had the tires put on. There is very little road noise, cant hear it at all with the windows up. Drives really well, makes the truck look 10 times more aggressive. Found mine on discounttiredirect.com for $260/ each.
I just bought some Open Country MTs this past weekend. They are 35's with 20 inch black Helo rims. I'll send you a pic as soon as my camera charges. I was also going to go with the Nittos, but I was sold on the Open Countrys. I was VERY surprised at how quite they actually were. I had to take a test drive in one of the employees trucks before I was sold. Both are awesome tires...I just love the tread pattern on the Open Country.
