Default Which Muffler?

On my '05 Hemi, I've got a Flowmaster 40 with the stock reasonator still on there now and I really dont like the sound of it. A little too much cab noise, especially on a 600 mi trip with the wife that we just took. And it seems like a great deal of back pressure when I let off the gas. My imagination?

I've heard about the Aero 3030XL but I went to their website and they are all out of stock on most everything. Did they go under?

I called a couple shops listed as dealers in my area...1 doesnt do muffler work any longer and the other, Mad Hatter, doesnt have any and made the comment he thinks they went out of business.

Short of paying $175 plus installation for an Aero, what would be your next recommendation? A Magnaflow?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Yeah flowmasters drone pretty badly. What kind of exhaust tone are you going for? Something quiet, loud?

I'm 45 so nothing too loud. Just a nice low rumble. Mainly without the cab drone.

Well if you do wnat to go with the aero try here:

Magnaflows are also nice, and give a nice mellow tone if you go with a larger casing size.

Borla's (which are my favorite) are practically drone free and have a mellow light to mid throttle but a nice agressive WOT sound to them too. Im actually getting rid of my Borla Catback because its just to quiet for me and replacing it with a Borla XR-1 but that would be quite a bit louder than what I think you would want. And the Borla's are usually on the expensive side too.

I would still recommend the Aero 3030XL. I have it on mine with the stock resonater still on and love it. It did however cost me about 170.00 plus I got a shop to put it on for 40.00 including a chrome tip. Here is a link to a post I made with some sound clips. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-at3030xl.html

Oh yeah, I bought mine from Moe's.

I've got an 18" magnaflow 3" in single 3" out and I love it. Cruising down the highway I don't here it at all but when I get on it it sounds great. You can get this muffler just about anyplace online for $86.70 with free shipping. I was worried when I ordered it if I was going to like it but after having it installed I was very happy with the sound and noticeable power increase. Would recommend to anyone. That's my $.02

I really enjoy my magnaflow custom exhaust. You can buy the muffler off of ebay and have a trusted local shop do some pipping for you. Keep the resonator on with the magnaflow and you won't be dissapointed IMO of course
