I am new to this forum. I have been searching the web for a shop that knows how to upgrade and modify the 45RFE transmission for my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. I hate this stock trans. It wastes fuel and is designed to drop out of lock-up to soon when a load is applied. I tow trailers. I had my old 97 Dodge 2500 with the 47RE trans modified. It has lock-up control under the dash. I can set to stay in lock up rht down to 20mph with out damage to the trans.I can buy a 45RFE with heavy duty torque converter, clutches and stuff. But can't change the lock-up. Since the 45RFE is fully electronic no one seems to know how to change this machines program. Dealers either don't know or refuse to change the load settings. I own super chips programmer but it will not allow the software to be modified. Has anyone done any of this? Does anyone know how?
