i just finished installin my sub and amp put the amp exactly where u put it but idk if anyone else did this but for the remote wire put a switch in the middle and hid it under the front cup holders so if i wanted to turn the subs off or took the sub out to use my back seat i can shut the amp off

I understand about if you want to take the subs out completely but thats what fused distribution blocks are for. As for turning them off, most HUs have that ability in its settings. Nice thought to add a switch though.

In those pictures, do you have your speaker level input setup? if so why? I see RCA's on there and running both is kind of pointless and probably even hurts sound output if you do have the speaker level input setup... The point of the speaker level input is for subs running off a stock HU that doesnt have RCA outputs...

The white wires going into the harness that lead into the amp next to the rca's, it says speaker level input above the harness, and you shouldnt need a speaker level input if you have rca's

You guys are inspiring me....

My front seat is the 40/20/40 split....thinking of putting a 12" sub downward facing in the middle seat section....basically building a box to go in the existing seat. It is rarely used but I will have some cushion on top of the box just in case. That would put it about 2" or so above the center hump.....hmmmm.....more to come.

FYI. Pioneer amps are rated at 14.4v to get their "rms" power. MTX amps are rated at 12v to get their "rms" power. There's a big difference in power ouput going from 12.5v-14.4v.

That MTX amp is rated at 280x1rms bridged at 4ohms @ 12.5v. That Pioneer is rated at 380x1 @14.4v. So in reality you only gain 100w more RMS but yet still at a different voltage. I would guess you gained 50w rms at equivilent voltage. 50w could make or break a sub as far as performance. Anything JL w6and below is good about running on lower power. Meaning lots of sound for little power. That MTX amp, even though small packs a nice punch. $70 shipped is a great deal!!!!

I still got that 4channel JBL amp for your highs if your still interested????...lol
