Default Looking for an exhaust

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good exhaust. The main problem that I keep running into is that whatever pipe you put on the truck sounds totally awesome at idle, but you rev the motor at all, or put any kind of load on it, and it sounds like complete ***. I drive a truck, not a high pitched rice mobile for Pete's sake. I just want something that sounds good throughout the rpm range and when the motor is under load. The closest thing that I can find is the magnaflow kit that goes on the 3.7 Raider. Just asking any other opinions or suggestions before I waste my money.

The flowmaster 50 is probably your best bet for sound from the v6. I think Derrick has that and he's got videos on youtube, just search for derricksmash on youtube or v6 ram videos. I posted a video of my magnaflow when I first got it and it was real obvious it was a v6 when you revved it up. Now that I've had it on there awhile it sounds better, maybe I'm just getting used to it.

Just got a magnaflow installed. Sounds good. The main reason that I didn't want to go with flowmaster is because if you rev the motor past 2500, it loses that muscle tone to it and turns into a ford ranger sound to me. Its a 3 inch pipe from the y pipe back. The motor is SO much more responsive now! The butt dyno doesn't notice any power increase, but the delivery of the power is much improved. Smoother shifts, less lag in the motor, more torque in the lower end, and better pedal feel! Just one question. What the HELL was Dodge thinking putting that restrictive *** system on a truck with a v6?

Anyways, I took a video with my phone and put it on youtube.

Thanks for the help!

Xanadu is the stock y still on there and you just went w/ a 3" in and out magnaflow? What size is the muffler 14", 18", 24"? I've got a 14" dual in single out and it can really drone when cruising.

I think it's a 18 or 20" straight through. I do notice a bit of a drone, and now my floor vibrates. The next thing is headers. That should help out alot. I have heard that they will help tremendously with both sound and performance (that being reinforced by derricksmash's vid). I have thought about going with the super44s, but I have no Idea how they would sound.

So you still have the stock y-pipe on there? If you do, get a replacement magnaflow y when you get your headers, that will help eliminate some more restriction in the system.
