Default Paint vs line x vs diy

So my new black ram has chrome front and rear bumpers and a chrome grill. I wanna make everything black. They want some crazy price to paint my bumpers so i was thinking about buying a rubber coating spray and painting myself with that. Any thought on if thats a good idea or not? I dont think the bumpers would look to good with flat black when everything is gloss black. I was also thinking about powder coating witch was like $300 to do. Do they make a diy gloss black rubber spray like line x?? Id like to do that b/c id be able to just paint them while they stay on the truck.

Paint them yourself, it will be the most inexpensive option and if you do it right it will turn out looking really good.

Hey, i just powder coated my front and rear bumpers black. But its a flat black. Although, when i had to decide on which type of black, there was another one called wet black which was pretty much gloss black. But, before i decided to go the powder coat direction, i was going to get both bumpers sandblasted & primed for about the price of powder coating one bumper. Then i would paint it myself. So, theres a bunch of options for you.

you can sand the bumpers yourself, then use a self etching primer. paint them yourself

You don't need to sandblast them, you can sand them down yourself and then paint them. I did it with my chrome side steps and it turned out really nice.

i heard rubber coating spray cloggs the pores...:icon_goof ygrin:

seriously tho, i agree with teacher and jay, sand 'em up and prime 'em with some self etching primer, then paint away
