Default winsheild wiper goast

My windsheild wipers sometimes, well most of the time do not turn on when I set them to just the delay. I have to turn them to full on first. Then when they are on delay they will wipe up to seven times in a row, then stop, then 2 or 3 times, then stop, then 4 or 3 times..... etc.

Does anyone else have this issue? If so what is the fix or problem?

2005 Ram 2500 Diesel.

I've been seeing the same thing for almost 2 years now. Not sure what is causing it, but it hasn't affected them actually working. I think its probably just some moisture getting into the switch, but I'm not positive.

I had the same issue and it drove me crazy for a couple weeks, turns out that I had to replace the multi function switch on mine and that seems to have fixed the issue.

hahahahahahahaha... that makes me laugh. Draco was embarrassed of his personal problem, until somebody else said something.

LMAO... this is still making me laugh. Good times on the DF corner...

Sounds like a switch problem. Most likely a short in the switch... GL

i've had this problem and have had my rig in the shop several times for it. i had the wipper module changed and the problem was not solved. finally, i took it in one more time and they changed the main computer module (unsure exactly what the name is) that controls everything from the wippers to the lights, windows, etc. haven't had any more issues.

Ive had mine at the dealership a few times for this. They changed the entire wiper assembly..still did it. Then they changed the multifuction switch...twice..still does it. I took it back and i got the infamous "working as intended" I read somewhere that its one of the relays....

Yea the multifunction switch is the part in the steering column. They had replaced every other electrical component involved up to that point and had no success. After replacing the multi function switch I haven't had any issues.
