Thanks. As far as the grade of stainless. i don't think these are T-304 but rather T-409 so they may shows signs of pitting after a while???? JBA's site doesn't clarify 304/409..etc but anytime that happens i figure it being T-409. I could care less. the stock manifolds that came off were all rusty looking and as far as the rest of the exhaust...It's T-409 as well which already has a grungy look after just 6kmi.
T-409 will shows signs of rust, but it will never rust completely through or weaken the metal to the point of softness. T-409 just has a little bit more mild steel mixed in than 304 but it's def not junk by any means.
I wasn't after a show finish especially since the oem manifolds were rusted within the first month.

My photobucket account doesn't show pics. i clicked on a "hide pics" button just below one pic and now I can't reverse it???? So no "worthless w/out pic" sayings unless your gonna fix my account.

I never intended to install the headers in search of High performance. they are rated at 15hp/15tq above 3200rpms which i never see empty. When i get out and tow, then i will post what my butt dyno feels.

i installed them for 2 reasons.
1. I have under $300 invested into them
2. Extra power/tq when towing is always a plus

Sound.. Slight tingyness is noticeable when against a wall and going up a hill. Guys that are familiar with LT's know the sound i am referring to. i just didn't know that shorties amplified that sound enough to be distictly heard. Slightly higher tone than before. When i say higher I mean not as muffled.
Install took 3hours. i ran a heat cycle and re-checked all header bolts. i re-used Factory geaskets as they are fairly thick and seemes to compress nicely. Zero leaks so far. I used JBA supplied hardware which consisted of 1.5" standard bolts with lock washers. i applied Anti-sieze to the threads and screwed in every bolt by hand to ensure no stripping! Factory bolts came out super easy being I only have 6400miles.
I'll keep everyone posted on MPG's as well.

I will say this. When i first started the truck i wish i had my camera turned on to video. The headers changed color very fast. it was amazing. they went from looking like normal mild steel to now they are that bronzed stainless color with some blue hue. The first temp change is the most color change they usually see. it would have been cool to have everyone see it. Hint..hint.. to those future guys! Color change only lasted about 30sec-1minute.
Did you feel a big difference with the headers,I've been hearing different opinions and since you have them installed I figured I would ask you.
Thanks!!

Sorry. All that info was in my original that got deleted when Mozilla crashed...uuugghhhh

Direct bolt on to factory exhaust. Headers slipped right in without removing anything.
Install took 3hours total after warming up the engine, letting it cool and re-torquing the header bolts. (2.5hrs really)
did it on my back with basic tools. 10mm socket, 13mm socket, 15mm box wrench and 13mm box wrench. That's it.
Anti-sieze applied to all threads.
I bought the headers off Ebay brand new for $249 shipped. Then I paid another $20 for rush delivery so I could get them b4 vacation. Then the pass. header didn't fit because JBA revised the primary tubes to fit the 4x4's so they agreed to ship me out the newer one at no cost. So shipping there and back was another $30. making the total expense $300. they were brand new in a sealed box.

You could pick up a set of BBK Ceramic coated headers. They run like $399 and I'm sure you can get them cheaper if you searched around.
If you were stuck on JBA's, there is a seller that has them posted for $518/obo with free shipping. I bet you could oofer $450 and take them home! Just a thought.

Just remember this.....1961s is stainless for 2wd only....1961s-1 is the newly revised passenger side that applies to all including 4x4's. If you have 2wd, no need to worry which one's you get as they will all fit.
