Question Quirky Idle Issue 4.7 2005 RAM

Done the throttle body cleaning, including IAC valve, in fact even tried replacing IAC with new, check TPS and within specs and looking for another RAM owner with same problem or someone who has figured out same….

Truck starts and runs fine HOT or COLD. After some driving 20+ minutes or so about one out of every ten stop at lights idle will drop down from normal 5-600 rpms to 400 rpms or rev to 800 rpms with brake on in gear, take out of gear i.e. neutral and will rev to 1100 rpms. Punch the gas i.e. rev the engine once and it will settle down to normal rpms.

Issue happen without or with AC on..

HELP!

When is the last time a tune-up was done? How many miles you got? Tune-ups are every 30kmi. Also, I would buy some Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner. Best stuff out there.

What do the 05 4.7L's use for throttle control? Do they have fly-by-wire? Maybe that's your problem. Or the sensor on the pedal that controls it?

Found It! TPS was intermittently sticking at the full close of the throttle... cleaned it and good to go!
