Ram engine code sequence?
Ok, new user here. Be gentle!
2004 Ram 1500 SLT (5.7Hemi) 95,900 miles
Engine light has come on and mostly stays on for the past 4 days.
Hold down the odometer and turn key to IGN. All gauges do good self test, then odometer window shows:
C Code
41 47 (or 67 or 61, or 63,65)
A5 28 (or 46,48) - pretty sure that is a '5'
AC 20 (or 34,38,40)
Ad 20 (or 38,40) - yes, lower case 'd' this time
AE 28 (or 48, 48)
00 00
I think the 00 00 means it is all done. What do all the rest mean? the first two are always the same so are those systems it is reading? The second two seem to change every time and seem to be in the same approximate range, except for the one time when all were in the lower ranges.
I searched lots of forums and find very few references to C codes. I found one .pdf online but their C Codes started at 10xx and did not have many of the numbers that I am finding in them anyway.
My next step is to go to Autozone and have them get the P codes for it, but I would appreciate any words of wisdom from anyone who can tell me what this is doing.
Thanks
Doug
