I don't know, just kind of had an idea that it might really spruce the truck up and give it some class. I've never been a fan of the black satin finished handles on dodges, and I think it could compliment the chrome emblems and 20" chrome wheels nicely. I also would like to put some emblems back on the tailgate. I was thinking of doing it like the early 3rd generation Rams where it says DODGE on the bottom left, and 4x4 on the bottom right of the gate. Then I could put a chrome tailgate handle on the truck too to complete the triangular effect of chrome. What do you guys think? Or am I insane lol?

 

I like the chrome handles (overlays) and think they accent very well. Hell, Ive got them on mine

 

Dude we better not get into your sanity!!! BUT, as far as the chrome goes, well it ain't my thing but try them you can, and probably will, take them off!!

 

You know something I think would look good and be a little different and something I am going to do to mine is take the tailgate emblem of the 06-08's and put just it on the driver and passenger doors with all other badges removed and it would add a little bit of an accent to the truck
Also the chrome door handles would look great on your truck as well

get the covers for just the handles and leave the rest of it (key hole area, under the handles, etc) black

 

Are the covers going to last? I was always under the impression that all of the trucks with chrome handles were real, but I'm assuming most of them are just cover kits? Can somebody get me a link to a quality chrome cover kit? Also, what about the tailgate? I'd like to do something for the gate because I'll be adding the chrome emblems back on again.

 

If they fit the theme of your truck, I think they'll look good.

You seem to know where you're going with your truck. I would do it.

I have the gate handle as well. I used the TFP stainless covers. They're real nice and not as thick as the plastic Putco covers.

That's a great looking truck SilsHemi. I never really thought about chrome handles before, but for some reason today it just kind of hit me up side of the head when I was working. I think it will eliminate any controversy if I should get black rims or not. I think the chrome accents match nicely with the smoked tail lights and headlights, a perfect balance.
