Default Will a dealer trade me hoods??

Ok here's the deal. I was coming home from getting my moms new vehicle and passed by the local Ford dealer. I caught a quick glimpse of a Ram with an SRT hood. I drove down there to check it out (dealership already closed) and it's in great condition. The hood is the exact same color as my truck as well. Do you think they would trade me the srt hood for my stock hood + some cash? My stock hood is in great condition and has less miles. I don't know if dealerships have policys against this.

Id doubt it but what do you have to lose by asking? They make a few bucks and the hoods are same color...you have nothing to lose looking into it.

Dude - that would be a sweet trade! Asking never hurt anything.

I still think your truck looks bad ***! LOL

yeah it couldnt hurt but i doubt they would be down for it. its one of those things that if you were to trade it in and be like hey its got an srt hood on it they would say well that wont improve the price but than they turn around and put it on the lot marked up with a big sticker on the windshield that says SRT HOOD. man those people get to me

They would, but they'll make you pay out the *** for it. My buddy wanted to trade rims with another truck just like his. Tires needed replacing within 5k miles. His tires were good. They wanted to charge him trade + damn near what new tires would cost.

Just give them a call and ask but I doubt they will. The hood is a selling point for the truck and could allow them to either sell it quicker or up the price for it. I'd definitely call though.

Yea, unfortunately, they think that there will be some person who doesn't know about vehicles, and is only attracted by the hood. They'll probably charge you trade + damn near what the hood would cost you to buy new and paint.

I would say no. They wouldn't even remove the chrome rims and white letter tires off of my new truck when I was buying my 08.
Said something about the DOT numbers of the tires being assigned to the VIN incase of a recall. I tried to trade for the blackwall tires on standard 20's instead of the WOL on chrome clad. Now I'm glad they didn't , but was surprised that they wouldn't at the time.

That is BS man! My buddy bought a 2009 4x4 Laramie but did not want the 20s as he was putting his own wheels, etc...

The dealer put the base steel 17" wheels on for him and took the price down.
