low rpm idel

Default low rpm idel

my truck is idleing at around 500 rpm it is a 05 ram 1500 4x4 w/ a 4.7l mag v8 and i have problems with it stalling sometimes it does not do it all the time what would cause it to stall like that

yeah i took it to the dealer and they said it wasn't reading any codes

It could be your TPS, but I think that is supposed to throw a code.

If your not throwing a code it's hard to tell. Mine had a bag ignition coil and it idled low and funky like that but it threw a code and was fixed. Doesn't hurt to check it though.

TPS is throttle position sensor and can cause erratic idle and stalling. How many miles are on your truck? Have you done all the recommended maintenance?

i have done all the mantinace on time i have 63,500 miles on my truck

have you cleaned the TB(throttle body)? if not get some throttle body, and air intake cleaner from advance, and clean that puppy, it makes a difference in throttle response, as wel as makes for a smoother idle
