would that even work on anything other than a viper? i would think that for our truck it would be a straight tube with a filter somwhere

No, the way the factory works it, it's so you can plug the hole in the hood if need be and still use the regular filter location.

oh i see. i remeber a fews years back whe the srt-10 were really popular there were some aftermarket set ups with the filter right inside the scoop and the a straight tube to the TB.
