Default Hemi vs SS

Okay so yesterday after dropping off my lil boy off at his friends house i was crusing around town. I have spotted this Black SS silverado rolling around these parts for awhile. My friend has a Cobalt SS S/C and he raced this Silverado and smoked it bad from a dig and from a roll not that bad his truck is stock with an intake. I have raced my friends cobalt stock from a roll at 30 and we stay pretty even untill 80 mph.

So anyways i roll up to this SS Silverado Rearwheel Drive stock with a intake of somesort and he puts his truck in N and rev's. Okay so i just smile iunno what the out come would be so the light turns green we both floor it for about one block, my truck got a slit jump on him my bumper was about a foot or so infront of his, then the dam light turns red at the next light. SO we stop then the guy in the SS gets trigger happy and guns it and runs the red light way before the light even went to green.

So since he goes i go as soon as he took off. A lil Later than him. but i didnt pursue after 40 becasue whaT FOR he got a huge jump on me. Anyways couldent find him again.

So what would be your guys specs on this? I am sure i have a good chance on winning right. My 5.7 should beat his 6.0..

Also depends on the year. They stopped making the AWD the last year for the Silverado SS because too many people were blowing the unit. So the later ones are RWD. Now don't roll up on a Trailblazer SS. Those things are much smaller, lighter and have that same 6 liter.

Yep, I love the Silverado SS's. There are a ton of black ones around town. I'm sure I'll run into one of them on the streets one day. As it stands now, the SS should win considering I have a four door/four wheel drive truck with just an exhaust done to it with 3.92 gearing. But I would bet with a cold air intake and a diablo tuner, I should have a chance. But all of this aside, I love the Ford SVT Lightnings and Chevy SS's....not to mention the Ram SRT-10.

The SS that was running at the track when I was did a full second faster than me, and that's with the intake & tuner.

It's all in the weight difference.

The SS;s don't have nearly the drivetrain loss as the Rams do, so even if the weight and numbers were identical. The SS would own a Ram for the simple fact of Chryslers terrible drivetrain loss. i need to have a chat with their Engineer's because clearly they are morons at nearly 30% loss.
Every dyno that I have seen is right about 28-30% drivetrain loss for the Rams. Where as other trucks like Titan and SS are not even 20% loss. 10% of 300hp is 30hp loss, so for 345 that's 100hp+ loss for the Rams. Thus why they dyno at 240ish rwhp on the dyno.

'Tis true, every dyno I see of a stock Ram with 345 HP at the crank shows a RWHP in the upper 220s to mid 230s range. Pretty damn pathetic.

I bet I've said this a jillion times: Best engines on the planet matched with the worst trannies!!!

So how would my truck compare to my buddies 2009 silverado extended cab with the 5.3? Would he beat me? His truck is bone stock.
