Yes, spanners for this purpose aren't terrible expensive. FYI, you don't need more than a ratchet wrench or breaker bar to change the belt. Just take the load off using the tensioner.

We used to use an air chisel with a pointed tip. Just put it on the left side of one of the flats on the nut and give a couple good hits, loosens right up. Done tons of them that way.

My guy at Sheriden performance told me to knock the wrench to the right, but I hear alot of people say to the left...so I have tried both for hours today and accomplished nothing except a bunch of knicks and dings everywhere. I build a tool to hold the pulley still its a rectangle of steel with two bolts through it..holds pulley still.

The only possible thing I can think of is that my adjustable wrench loosening after being hit is making some difference? I am totally 100% lost. I have been working on this for days.

Try a pipe wrench, that's what I used and it came right off.

Have not tried heat, only an adjustable pipe wrench. I even used tie downs to pull the wrench tight while i held the pully holder tool with one hand and beat the wrench with a hammer on the other hand. Shoudl I use some PB Blaster? I am all out of ideas. I have the pulley holding still and the wrench on tight and not a thing.

PB would be a good start, maybe a little heat too. Just not too much, don't know if your fan clutch will build pressure if it gets too hot.
