Ya know what I'm thinking of doing...

Basically I got the idea from my friends Denali...

Going to cut the low beam wire from my stock halogen plugs, tear out the amber running light, retrofit the HID in the running light section, and then do a similar LED setup like you have there...

It should look sweet...

Only question I have to ask, is how exactly do you line up the HIDs...

Like, do the projectors have to be perfectly straight?

Or, if they are off a few degrees when putting them in, can you adjust them so they are straight?

I use 2" machine screws to mount and eyeball line mine up. Then I go outside and about 25-30 feet away from a wall I will get both the low and high projector lined up the same and then adjust the headlight assembly as needed.

I got started on a few other projects which are done now but in the mean time was waiting on a few other parts to come in. Some have gotten here and the rest should be here this week I hope.

This is still WIP and hopefully be done soon.

So you would want to keep the stock headlight bulb intact why? It won't be nearly as bright as HID will, so it'll be lmost useless.

Lining them up is crucial. There is tilt adjustment, height adjustment and L/R adjustment. It's a PITA. picture a safe with a combonation. Turning it slightly left or right is the tilt. HID's must be perfectly level like this

I ended up going with a degree or 2 tilted to the left so the side of the pass. side of the road is aluminated more and reduces light for oncoming traffic.

I used 4 bolts through the back of the housing just as Weed di and I elongated the holes so i could twist the beam to align it properly. Most guys get everything lined up perfectly and then permanently seal everything up. I opted to retain adjustable features which was the biggest PITFA of all.
This project is not for beginners or guys that aren't good with their hands or guys who don't have a creative build process.
Looking at the pics you could imagine how sloppy the beam can look real quick if misaligned a little bit.

This phucker was smart enough to only choose 2. You dove in head first by choosing 4...lol Not to mention the fact your swimming in mods that have been holding up the project.

I am using TRS FX-R Bi-Xenon projectors. They are a 2.5" lens(closer to 2.7") and they have a Clear lens. No fresnel fuzzy stuff goin on over here
TL projectors are only low beams. they don't have the motor for the highs.
I believe you can do a ZKW swap for your E55's to get a clear lens???? Check over in the TRS forums and see what guys are using. Shouldn't cost more than $80 for clear lenses per Pair. TRS sells them all.

Yeah, there are a few sets of ZKWs on ebay. The TLs should be hi/lo with use of solenoid. Id like to replace my single beam e46s (2.5") with some other 2.5" Bi-xenons. As for the lens, I know they will fit my e55s but IDK if I can afford to continue to drop money is this project you know?
