my 2003 double din conversion
pictures explain it. i am a professional installer for a living so it took me a few weeks working on it in between installs. other stuff i have done is on the link also and some of my stereo also. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...7&l=7dd61a9a06
yeah thats right bow down the the master. haha. nice thing is that since i molded a double din kit in i can swap radios whenever i want. i have a pioneer navi unit on the way and that will be a simple fit probly take 30 min to install.
Looks like you did the same as I did and filled in the ears, sanded and painted smooth. Nice blend. I also have a Pioneer NAVI but Ive got the AVIC Z1 with a 60gb HDD. Speaking of which I have a new Pioneer Sat reciever and SIRUIS Stiletto tuner if you are interested. I have have an IPOD connector to which I use none of those.
if you sent me your dash i would charge $300to do it. i might make a mold of mine but it would probly be $200 for me to make a copy of it out of fiberglass.
and i already got everything for my radio. usb, ipod and i am going to get the sirius unit for it too the cd-sb10 so i can control my sportster from the radio and bury that unit in my dash.

Man, not trying to be demoralizing but I used the following items to make mine. A price of even more than 100 is too much being that if you really wanted one then you can buy them on ebay.
Dremel - $45+
Diamond circular blade - $15
ABS plastic - $7
Bondo - $10
Gorilla Glue - $4
4 security screws and 2 bits - $10
Misc spray paint and sandpaper
I made mine over the course of a weekend and what really took the longest for me was the bondo to dry.
Like I said before (and not trying to take away from this thread) there are pics of a step-by-step in my gallery. I like to see inventive guys and thier work but sometimes when it comes to doing it for others it seems they way overprice thier help.
BTW, I used to carry a MECP cert for several years.

well the reason i say that price is because your paying for my TIME, my TOOLS, my MATERIALS, my TIME. i am not saying no one can do it themselves but if they want me to do it it will be that price and done right and look great. mecp certification wont get you anywhere in this industry, shops would rather have real world experience and knowledge not book smart.
