Default painted my calipers

Just wanted to give a heads up to those guys that are gonna paint their calipers. I picked up 2 set of Duplicolor black caliper kits off Ebay for a great price....$25 shipped to my door for 2 sets! Awesome find.
Anyhow, even though it's a single stage paint and not as "tough" as the 2 stage paints that have activators and such. i think they cam out pretty descent for what the paint is. The paint is rock solid and is super click(repels dust and grime because of the ceramic particulates)

Now, i used the teeny crappy paint brush they give with the kits. My recommendation is to get a better brush. 2 of them so you can take your time and maybe have a break in between as crouching for too long can be tough for some.
As I made my way around the truck the brush started to dry and the last caliper(pass front) has some brush marks. Actually the last 2 started getting brush marks. Nothing big though as I applied 3 coats to each caliper. By the time I got to the bottom of the calipers, the tops were already dry enough for another coat. i just layed it on super thick. They came out fairly nice. While not perfect as i could care less since they are mostly hidden, they look much better than the spray paint that was chipped and peeling off of them.
The little can still is half full and the Ram has some freakin large *** calipers. So there's plenty of paint for all 4. Remember, i did 1 light coat and 2 heavy coats ontop. i did the top/bottom and side. i did not paint the back. They stayed right on the truck.
sorry for the crappy pics as i didn't think to snap any until afterwards.

I like it i'm considering doing this during my fall break when i detail the entire truck. i wanna pull the wheels off anyway to get the brake dust off that seems to just get on there behind the wheels and i don't have a good way of getting it off other than taking the wheels off. So maybe i'll consider doing that.

Used that same kit when I did mine. While it isn't the best paint ever, I do have to say that it has been a while since I did it and they still haven't chipped or peeled.

I scrubbed them with a degreaser and made sure they were really clean before applying.

Looks good man. I did mine some time back and Ive found that the paint does withstand harsh cleaning chemicals like Purple Power also.

I'll do mine when I get around to getting the rims I want. Right now there is no point as you cant see them right now. When I do mine I want to do them silver or red though.
