Edead 80mil on the headliner and doors
I pulled down the headliner so i could apply some 80mil Edead to the roof. Factory piece was a bit to small to stop much vibration or panel noise...lol Anyway, the Edead 80mil is an ALL Butyl material unlike the older stuff which was asphalt. It's a true 80mil(actually measured to be 84mil)
Took a total of 2hrs from beginning to end. No heat gun needed as I left each piece in the sun for about 10 minutes as I worked. It was more work to get the headliner down than to apply the stuff.
Opinions: driving down the road, not much difference at all as expected. Bass seems a little better as it started to tickle my ears. never did that before. Also, the big reason i did it....Rain. Much quieter when the rain is falling as there's no echo or tin sound. it's completely quiet. i can hear the rain hit the windshield over the rumble of the rain on the roof.
Not sure the total material exactly, but if you got 30sq/ft you will have enough. i did only 1 layer as the stuff was pretty thick and was afraid of headliner fitment afterwards. With one layer, i had no problems at all.
Look at the stock damping pad.....lol

I also applied 2 layers inside the doors on the backside of the painted area. if i knock on the paint, the metal sounds like I'm knocking on a thick piece of steel. That's gotta save on door dings i would think? Also, I applied one layer over the face of the door behind the door panels. That's 3 layers all together for each door. The overall ride is so quiet when it's raining out and very quiet on the highway. The sound from the speakers is WAAAAAAAAY better than before. i am very pleased. Application on the doors took some time. Total time for the doors I would guess 5 hours.

looks good some quality time with the truck well spent ...you got a link for the edead stuff i was thinkin about dynamating some areas in my truck to reduce vibrations im sure this will work and you said much better sound with the system thats good what im lookin for ....thanks for the info....
^^ That's where I got it. Edead is the cheapest TRUE BUTYL stuff that is out there right now. Their site is a little more i believe than going through Ebay.
i bought 100sq/ft and let me just say, the stuff is super heavy. That right there tells you it's thick stuff and not paper thin like others.
Dynamat Extreme is a close comparison, but not as thick and Dynamat is ashpalt based and not a true butyl compound. tru butyl doesn't smell when it gets hot, it doesn't slide off of panels and it sticks in higher temps than asphalt.
I did my Mustang in Xtreme, but Edead was still the cheapest per sq/ft.
Essesntially I have 160mil thickness on the outer door panels as well as a layer that u can see in the pics. That's 240mil on the doors....lol
Edead Ultra 80mil 50sq/ft
Edead Ultra 80mil 100sq
Edead extreme 45mil 100sq/ft....this is very comparable to Dynamat Xtreme but still better and better priced

Not bad at all. The panel has very few screws holding it on and a torx bit for the handle. There are large enough holes to cut 12" pieces for many areas for the front doors, but some pieces had to be cut into 6" strips. The roll comes 18" width. Some of the back door pieces could be pulled in larger strips than the front. Most of those wer 8" or larger. So count on surface area being increased for all the overlays because of multiple strips. I put about 25sq/ft in each of the front doors and about 10sq/ft in each of the back doors. About 25sq/ft for the roof and I put 2 payers on the back wall behind the rear seat. I plugged the vent on the pass rear to hinder exhaust noises. Worked great.
I did all this back in early August. i just haven't shared yet.
