Default Gotta quiet my truck down. Plus inspection in a month.

Alright, I gotta quiet my truck down a lot! It's straight piped after cat right now. I gotta make it like stock quiet if I can and I'm going to install a electric cutout so I can get it loud. There was a gibson supertruck on it so all the rear pipes are gonna and the exhaust basically just dumps the under the rear seats of the quad cab. So what does everyone think I should do? Find a stock exhaust or something close? Any ideas?

Why not just get a muffler that is quiet under light throttle and cruising BUT screaming loud when you get on it? Not to sure how the 5.9 performs with a opened up exhaust but I know with the mods you have on a hemi, the cutouts would make that 0-60 even slower.....

Diesels need to breath. I'm sure they do better opened up. Which is why you see a fair amount with 5" exhaust and stacks. I was at a diesel show on sat what a blast!!!

Your in L.I.??? I'm in Albany,NY and there's no law against not having a muffler. I passed inspection many times with straigh pipes in place if mufflers. There's no law that requires a muffler, only a catalytic with no leaks before it.

As far as I've known down here at least. It's muffler required to pass. I was just looking around the net and I can't find any good answer. So I gotta do something plus the early morning start ups are making everyone whine. I wanna have a creeper anyways and then a flip of the switch and vroom. lol.
