Default Easiest way to remove factory hitch

Whats Easiest way to remove the factory hitch on my 07 dodge ram short box. It looks like couple bolts go ontop of the frame, do u have to partially lift off box to get hitch out?

Cheers!

..yea, remove bolts securing hitch to frame, loosen the bed bolts, lift the bed a little bit, lift the hitch up and out...best done with 3 people (2 to lift the bed on either side, 1 to pull the hitch out), and be careful..the hitch is heavy and bulky, it will knock you on your *** when your leanin back pullin on it..

yup, i had to take off the whole rear bumper when i installed my roll pan. i just had a buddy crawl under the bed, lift up with his legs and i slid the bumper out the back... the only problem we had was just gettin the dern stubborn bolts out...

Just cut it off with a saws all. it will cost you $8 for a fresh metal blade and about 10minutes.
You are taking off the back bumper so the work is half done to get the hitch outta there. Bolts shouldn't be terrible on an '07.
Choice is yours.

Just remove the four bolts, lift bed 3-4 inches, and it should just lift/slide out. I didn't even bother taking the bumper off. I just pulled it all out as one piece.
