Default Tie Rod Ends

Well, when making sharp turns, i am hearing a lot of noise. particularly a loud clunk, among other out of the ordinary noises such as sounding like im running over a soda can. its only while moving slowly though, like when pulling into a parking stall. I think it might be my tie rod ends. does that sound right to you guys? im hoping its not my ball joints, i just replaced those not too long ago.

worn tierods ends will cause your vehicle to "wander" on the highway. meaning your truck won't track straight. it will move left/right constantly. Also, worn tierods can cause pulsation when braking almost immitating warped rotors.
If you jack one side at a time and try to turn the tire left or right. You shouldn't be able to make any noises or barely move it. If you lift the bottom or pull down on the top, that will check your uppers. If you take a long bar and try to lift under the tire, that will check your lowers. Your bar must be like 3ft long. You stick it under the tire and lift. The bar needs to be 1/3rd of the way under the truck so you can get enough leverage.
These motions are very faint. You need not to try and lift the truck off the ground...lol You are only checking for slight movement. if you feel anything, chances are they will need to be replaced. There is a teeny bit of play allowed for each.

Sounds to me like you have one of those quality dodge CV shafts thats getting ready to let go. Not to hard to change if your up for the challenge.
This is just my opinion.

I get that "clunk" sometime at full lock making turns at low speed. It's the pivot arm smacking the lower wishbone. Although it doesn't do it consistently enough for me to figure out why.

I was getting that same noise at slow speeds in my 04 1500 4X4. Ended up being bad wheel bearings. I ended up replacing both sides. Pretty easy to do. I think I paid about $350 per side to replace. I don't know how different the wheel bearings are in the front between 2WD and 4WD. Keep us updated!
