Default plastic on front bumper?

I bought a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L recently, and the plastic piece on the very bottom of the front bumper is all cracked up.

I was wondering if anyone had ever just taken this piece off of the truck all together? I think it would look better, especially after I do my T-bar crank this weekend to give it the look of more ground clearance up front.

if anyone has done this a pic would be great. thanks.

If you are talking about the lower air dam on the bottom of the bumper, I have a brand new for a 2nd gen sitting in a box out in the carport. It was for a 98 Ram (my dads) but we never used it. LMK if it will fit.

i dont remember whay size either 10mmor 12 mm nuts. there are 5 of them and little plastic expansion tabs in between. take the nuts off and with some needle nose pliers squeeze the tabs while pulling down on the lower air dam. done

The lower air damn is there for aerodynamics, believe it or not it blocks the air from being trapped up in the suspension components reducing drag and increasing fuel mileage. Talk to the guys with lifts about their mileage, you know on that same note if you're gonna lift the truck and you don't like the look of it, get rid of it, the dam serves no purpose once you've extended you're suspension a lot father below it.

I noticed absolutely no difference with mileage when I removed mine.
If you plan on taking the truck anywhere that you're concerned about ground clearance then you're just going to tear it off anyways down the road.
