Question chck engine lite on. need advice!

I have aftermarket dual exhaust on my 02 ram 1500 and my check engine light has come on. I have been told it's my O2 sensor and that I should look at getting a new air intake system to balance the air flow thru my engine. I was told it could balance everything out and satisfy the O2 sensor. Is this true? Any advice will help!

that doesnt sound right. a cold air intake would help, but wont fix the o2 sensor. its either bad or you can do the non-fouler trick.

usually done by people who remove their cats, and dont want a cel. take some spark plug non-foulers, remove 02 sensor, screw 1-2 non foulers in the 02 bung. screw 02 sensor into non foulers. the 02 sensor is now out of the flow of exhaust and doesn't fully read the exhaust fumes tricking it into thinking that the exhaust flow is a-ok. try searching for it, there might be a diy.

do you have aftermarker cats? could be the problem. i just dont see any way that an aftermarket air intake could ever fix an o2 sensor problem.

but like ramhunter said, have the codes read at autozone and find out for sure what the problem is. never trust a mechanic unless he shows you proof!

I have a DIY for the non-fouler trick in the FAQ section...
