I've had the cheazy paper gasket and bolts that Pacesetter supplied on for about three years now. I keep waiting for the damn gasket to fail, but with just a slight tightening of the bolts needed every 6k oil change, it's showing no signs of failure yet.

As far as the bolts go, I had a conversation with the local performance shop guys not long ago and mentioned that I was looking at the locking bolts from Moe's and got a "no - hell no" in unison from them. Seems they are seeing some cases of the soft aluminum threads failing in the block from vibration over time. Theory is, something has got to give a little and if the bolts can't move, the threads go.

Never thought about it, but it makes sense. So, I guess when my paper gasket fails, it'll just be a Mopar one. I can live with re-torquing the bolts once or twice a year...
Yeah Im going to pick up the mopar gaskets from the dealer monday. As for the bolts, Im going to call pacesetter and see about getting a set of their bolts or at least the specs from them, otherwise I will order a set of the stage8 bolts and just wont use the locking clips. One of the guys around here has been using that setup on his truck for a few years now without any problems.

We'll see, I am ordering a few other parts to go on when we put the headers on (3" Y pipe / Wideband) so if they come by next weekend then hopefully yes. If not then it be the weekend after you guys come down, but before the HTC GTG the following weekend.

new issue, the y pipe from pacesetter seems to be on back order from everywhere. anyone know of any place that carries them? moes may have them but i cant call til monday, summit is out for about a week or so and jegs is wont ship til the tenth. other option would be to fab my own or see about a true dual and try to snake it over the axel on the drivers side to dump it like the other one which will cost $$$. out of one hole and into another oh well.

1LOWRAM,

I have been searching for header for my truck. I recently purchased a set of JBA Shorty Headers 1949 S-2 from Auto Anything. (342.00 shipped). Call when they have the discount (normally $380). One thing to keep in mind is the part number. AutoAnything said I have a 1949 S-1, inwhich the passenger header when down at an angle. That is for a 2002-2005 4.7L, not the same. My exhaust stops at the edge of the head (passenger side). The drive is the same. I called JBA and spoke to Alex, he looked it up and checked out the pics I sent. He verified that it is the S-2 model. The rep from Auto Anything said the department that places them in the system overlapped it. Good luck on your search.
