Exclamation Leaky Differential?

I bought my 2006 1500 sb/rc back in February. The differential cover is wet and appears to be leaking fluid out the rubber plug. Is this normal? Should I replace the plug? Should I use conventional lube or synthetic to top it off? Why did they not use a metal plug? So many questions, so little time!

Thanks for you help!

Bob

Check owners manual for fluid. Most run 75w-140 Synthetic. All fluid is Synthetic regardless of weight.
Rubber plug should be replaced if leaking. Also, if leaking it could be overfull. Fluid should be 1/2" below plug hole. All plugs are rubber, not metal.
Fluid should be changed every 30kmi
