Default installed CST 3" lift springs today

Well as the title says, I took my front end back apart today and man what a phreakin day it was.

As you guys know Ive been running RC 3" spindles with a coil spacer.

But a few weeks back I picked up some CST 3" springs

So I decided this weekend was a good weekend to tackle it being my girl was going to be at work (I.E me "me" time )

So taking everything apart is easy and quick. The BJs popped out much easier this time also. But when I was compressing my spring I had it laid flat on the ground with my foot on it and driving it with my impact with BAM!!!

The damn spring expands. But thankfully it went no where as my fott was holding it. So no big deal. Im thinking the hooks slipped but oh no. Not so simple. I ended up ripping the threads off hooks. I mean you could take them off and look down the hole and it was smooth. So ****, now I gotta go in town to rent one from AZ.

Ok, so I got it and get back home. They I get ready to put everything back together and notice the top few threads of my swaybar end link are crushed and NOT usable. *****!!

So I call AZ and they dont have it. I call Oriellys and they dont have it. I call Advance and they dont have it. Both Napa and Car Quest are closed and so is the dealer. Ive got tap and die sets but there is no way there is a die going on there. I tried to use a triangular file to clean the threads but that isnt happening.

So I locked it in the vice on the bench and got out the hacksaw. I carefully cut off about 3 threads and BAM!! Im back in business.

Now IDK what you guys use and how big and manly you are but I know I had my springs in and my hydraulic jack under the LCA supporting it. I removed the spring compressor and slid in my shock/strut and I'll be damn if it doesnt reach. So I try to go up on the jack and it only pushed up the truck. So how do I get it together? I have to go to the trusty toolbox and get my 3" strap tie downs and hook the LCA by the BJ and up to the top on the motor pad on the frame and get to ratcheting. And talk about it being as tight as a guitar string? Yeah, thats what it was. But I got it. Do IDK how you guys do it but whats how I had to.

And I had to do that on both sides and with the swaybar to get the end link back in the LCA. Not fun as some points let me assure you.

But it i all done now. So now I am at 43" from the top of the fnder to the ground and 42" on the rear. Time for a 1" block now I guess. LOL

By the time I got home it was getting dark so pics will be posted tomorrow.

You ever notice it's the simple "little" jobs that always end up taking all day and costing 4x what you originally intended to spend.

A few weeks ago Pyro and I decided to tackle his CAI where the support bolt holding it to the sidewall broke. Five minute fix, right? Nope, took us about two hours, ended up having to re-route his headlight ground, custom make a bushing and re-thread a hole...

The "easy ones" are usually the ones that have you pulling your hair out...

Here are the new pics. I am 43" inch at the top of the front fender and 42" at the back and the frame is 19" off the ground and was measude in the middle of the frame by the rear crossmember.

Pics are from my cell so excuse them and excuse the dirty rims also.....LOL

On the brighter side of things, the shop did the alignment for $30 being I had one done by them not too long ago.

so...you used 3" lift springs to achieve the same affect as spindles or coil spacers?? If so, I will definitly be doing this to see if it solves my clunking noise on my 07 2wd with a 2.5" coil spacer!

to the best of my knowledge, there arent any companies that make lift springs for the 2wd. and even if they did, it would be doing the same thing as the spacers and most likely not solve your problem. best bet is lift spindles.

and to weedahoe, looks good, but you deff need some rear blocks now. you know how much everyone hates those losers that raise the front way higher than the rear.

I am using 3" lift spindles AND 3" lift springs. I was using a small coil spacer with my spindles but took the coil spacer out and replaced with the springs to go a bit higher.

Here is the site for the 3" Springs and believe me, I didnt think they made them either because I looked forever for them.

As for the lift blocks, you can get a 1, 2 or 3 inch block set from AZ for 30 bux. I will only do the one inch so I can level out.
