my transmission pan has actually started rusting through... and its leaking, BAD! i tried a few things to get it to stop, but no luck. i found a shop that has trans pans, but they need to know the "code" of the pan. i looked at the equip id sticker and the code said "DGQ"... the guy said thats not it. i have an 2003 SLT 4.7L 2wd... can anyone tell me what i need to know?

Order up a PML trans pan. That way you'd have a plug to drain the fluid, and a fitting to mount a temp sensor. I called PML for the pan and all they needed was the make, model and year. Your trans should be a 545rfe, which is the same as the hemi trucks. I love mine, stays cool, easy to drain and won't drain the check book too bad.

OE replacement as in aftermarket?

There are 3 things i will never buy aftermarket as OE replacements:
1. Oil pans
2. Transmission pans
3. Differential covers

Aftermarket stuff is all thin junk! i have never come across OE replacement stuff that is anywhere near the quality as OEM as far as metal thickness and the electrostatic paint on the outside.
Just thought i would rant for a moment.....lol
