BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A's have the longest tread life rating in that size. I'll be getting them when My OEM Badyears wear out. (already @ 20K and have plenty of tread left).
You need better than OEM shocks and an alignment as well.

I have 275 60 R20 Cooper Discoverer HT+ and have over 33K on them.
They still have about 3mm left of tread and I rotate them every 6-8K.
I also run at 38-40 psi.
To the OP, If ramhunter9 is correct and your getting 60-70K miles out of yours, your doing very well imho.

The stock tires I had 40000 miles on before I switched to my BFG's and my stock tires still have another 10000 - 15000 miles left on them. How many miles are you doing in a year? How fast are you driving?
You'll get much longer life from the "soccer mom" type tires, like the BFG Long Trails, Firestone Destination, etc. Very good road characteristics from both of those tires and 60-80k life is not uncommon...
That's not very good. I have 37x13.5R20 Nitto Mud Grapplers and I have 60,000 on them and still going. If I only got 20K I would be pissed. Heck they come with a 40,000 mile warranty.
Stock wrangler HP tire is garbage and has terrible rain characteristics; however, they are ade for highway and do last 30-40kmi if only used on the highway.
You need to keep a few thing in mind. Are the roads rough? Are you driving on concrete where it has the water grooves or traction grooves cut into the ground? rough roads wear tires faster. grooved concrete roads EAT tires alive! If you constantly turn the wheel full lock while sitting still, that attributes to tire wear. if you tow and have an LSD, that attributes to tire wear. last but not least, tire pressure.
This is not even going over the aggressive styles that aid in tire wear which you said you weren't aggressive so the above forementioned still would apply to you.
Cooper LTZ has exceptional road manners for the big blocks of tread it has. Zero road noise so far and I've been running them hard for 5kmi. Excellent water tire!
Prob not the best All highway tire. I would say the BFG Long trail and other tires that have smaller tread blocks is what you should be looking for.
