Default HID Problems

I just got a xentec HID kit... they work fine when the truck is off.. when i start the truck they act like strobe lights and shut off... i think its not getting enough power and need to install them on a relay right from my battery. Anyone else have this happen?

A relay should be used regardless with any HID kit install. HID's draw near 24,000v when they first fire up. That is way more current than the factory headlight wires can support. Without a relay, your bulb socket and wiring could melt.
if flicker is still apparent when the relay is used, you can add in a resistor inline to stop the flicker.

On mine I either had to choose the resistors or the relay, it had them set up so I couldnt run both, disappointing I know, I chose the resistors, and have not yet had a problem with my wiring the whole time I have had them. I know the relay is very highly recommended, and I wish I could figure out a way to run it, but it has worked great to be honest....
