looks like BP is trying to skip a few steps up the ladder?????

Eitherway, from one Synthetic to the next...I never seen it as much difference anyways.

I don't care what product it is you will always find their competition saying something negative about them. Whether its oil, oil and/or air filters, gas, tires, cars. Every product on the market there is some negative feedback on it. Some of the competition will hire a lab to run some tests to make the other product look bad. I decide on what I am going to use by reading about products on forums like DF. Listen to feedback from people, that I know, that have actually tried a certain product, not some one that will make a buck off of me buying or not buying a certain product. I try it and then decide for myself what works best for me. Thats just my

As long as you change your oil regularly, one is as good as another.

i didn't post because i am against RP i just found it an interesting read and i found it odd that they cannot back up their claims. i personally use mobil1 for the simple fact that whenever i went to a dealership and looked around that is what mopar put in its srt vehicles.

I'd leery of anything from southwest research now. They did some independent government paid testing of fuel efficiency of our locomotives vs the competition. we came out on top, but by a margin that WE didn't even believe.

Then they did another independent test (paid for by the competition this time) and the competition came out ahead by an even bigger margin. The margin was so big that railroads started doing their own testing and have time and time again proven that the SwRI results are bogus.

Being paid for an 'independent' test by a competitor=NOT independent

well I went strait from dino oil to RP. $70 an oil change always ticks me off, but I started going to 5,000 miles between changes.

I have always backed up RP, but I guess I really don't have anything to compare it to over dino. Hmm, I might have to switch next oil change and see. Sucks though, Ive been using it for 30,000 miles, so 6 changes at $70

I'd like to hear more about this, but by INDEPENDENTS not competitors.

exactly, nothing against RP, but from what i got out of that article, RP just went along with what the research said and changed all their advertising. like they knew it wasn't true but was riding that train while it lasted.
