Default painting your grille

i have the stock "chrome" basically silver plastic grille... anybody know if i can sand it and paint it and what kind of paint i need or where i can get an all black grill for my truck?

You can paint the chrome grille. Just sand it down. You should be able to use most any spray paint, so long as you do everything properly on it.

I did it to mine by sanding it than used plastic primer and black spray paint i have pics but I have no clue how to upload it

sand with 320 till its a brushed aluminum finish
spray self-etching or adhesion promoter primer (3coats)
base coat (5coats)
sand with 1000 grit sand paper on 4th base coat
spray clear (3-4 coats)
let dry good
then poloshing compound or wax

I'm sorry for the thread jack but I hate making new threads when it's needed. My grill is starting to bubble up, is there a way I can fix it? If not what color should I paint it, or just go to a scrap yard and get a used one?

What do you think it would look like color matched to the truck? Idk what I would think of it, and should I paint the mesh backing a different color as well?
