Default headlights wont turn off

Hello all

I have a 05 ram 24 valve I-6 and the headlights wont turn off, key out of ignition, running does not matter, it does not have daytime driving lights and I unhooked the head light switch and still lights stay on, I had to unhook both batteries not to run the battery down. Any ideas???

Thanks
Sethro

bad switch? maybe you have some wires touching and somehow they are getting power that way? did you pull the fuse?
good luck

Mine will stay on for a few minutes after I park it, unless i hit the lock button twice or unlock the truck again. So I'm thinking it could be a malfunction of this circuit in the computer. Unfortunately I wouldn't know how to trouble shoot that.

Our trucks come with a factory delay. it's in your user manual how to turn it on.off and tset the duration. it's an aid to get you in your house at night...etc
The courtesy headlights come on I think if you shut the truck down and then turn off the lights otherwise viceversus the lights go off as normal.

Regarding the posters initial problem...Your headlight swith is bad and you need to buy a new one. Get on ebay or something and the only differences are if you have foglights. There will be a button on the headlight swithch for that as well.

well he is new, has only 2 posts (on this thread only), I haven't heard of that happening before especially when you unhook the headlight switch. He hasn't been back since a little after 10am (if he was concerned about it he would have checked back by now). I don't know just one of those hunches I guess :/

seems like we have been having a troll invasion recently so that may play a role too lol
