Default Caster/chamber adjustment bolts maxed out

Hi All,

just got new tires on saturday at 29k miles from Just Tires and they told me they couldnt properly align the front end because the drivers side adjustment bolts were maxxed out. They also said that the passengers side tie rod is bent. I bought the truck a year ago with 11k miles and have thought from the beginning that there was a problem with the front end but got the Dodge Service Rep standard response, "thats normal". Did I buy a lemon?

with 29K you are still under warranty right? Can you take it back to the dealer? But if you are not lifted then I cant see how they cant do the alignment unless the bent tie rod is causing the issue and if so then replace the rod.

yeah, it has the balance of the 30K mile warranty left..I even bought the chrysler corp 70k mile extended warranty. I just cant figure out why the adjustment bolts would be spent on a new truck like that.

I know when mine was stock they had no issues doing an aligment. Once I lifted it they had to max them out to get in aligned but managed to do it. I was told I had no more to give and they barely got it. Thats why I ask if you were lifted or not. Did they explain physically why it is maxed out and how far off you are still and why?

sorry, I am not lifted at all.....not even leveled. They said the right front tie rod was bent, and possibly the lower control arm, but they could still get it within specs. The left front caster and chamber adjustment bolts (they said the oval ones?) were maxed out and they didnt know why. At first they recommended a body shop look at it to see if something serious isnt bent or damaged, when I said it was still under warranty they said it should go back to the dealer. Which would make the fourth trip to the dealer about this issue I have had with the front end.

Yeah if the tie rod and LCA are bent then someone hit something with it. I would certainly be getting that looked into and or replaced. You can replace both yourself though if you want to. Its not hard.

Take the alignment info from Just tyres and let the paperwork back up what your saying to the dealership.
They can't argue that away.
