Most people run sythentic (I do) and put in whatever you oil cap says for you to add.

Go with Mobil 1... even though I did 4,000 miles... I expected better... but try it out.... I'm going to stick with Mobil 1

I use High-Mileage Pennzoil lizards in my Ram. My Mazda gets Pennzoil Platinum 'cause o' the turbo. Your filler cap should show you the viscosity. It's probably 5w-30, but might be -20

i always use mobil1. change the oil as soon as i get a new vehicle. i got my 08 with 2 miles on it drove it home and did my first oil change with 17 miles. i figure thats what mopar runs in the srt models so it has to be good enough for my truck

All engines that came in rams up to 2006 use 5W30. 2006 and up need 5W20, especially the hemis with MDS.

I use Amsoil (5w-30), but that is a personal preference. Synthetics presents their value at the extremes. Extreme heat, subzero and high RPMs. The extended oil changes is a plus.
