Man, this is the first time Ive read this thread. That is crazy! That woman needs to be shot for endangering a child. Thats BS. Also, I know the numbers dont add up, but I think they should have just totaled it. I would hate to be driving around ina truck that I knew was almost destroyed. Hell, my wife re-end some poor sap, (Ive still got the red a$$ at her), they went ahead and totaled her car. Her damages didnt cover near the panels that yours did. Glad to see your tow mirrors came out of it alive. LOL

Anyways, keep up updated. Would like to see pictures of the truck when it finally gets done.

Well, not to mention the fact that I've had a rental vehicle now for 83 days. According to the rental contract, it's $42/day they are charging the insurance company. Another $3,486 sunk in rental fees. Roughly the insurance company is going to be paying somewhere around $18,100 after it's all said and done with. And I still end up with a previously wrecked vehicle...

Anyway, update on the other driver.
Her child was taken from her and put in the care of her grandfather. She went to trial a couple of weeks ago, I don't know exactly what all they charged her with, but she was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Personally I think it should've been longer, as this was her 2nd DUI offense, and I found out the child was in the front seat, without a safety belt or car seat.... The most fortunate thing that came from this accident was the child was unharmed.

That kind of stuff breaks my heart. What could possibly be going through the mom's head when she did that? Not to mention the second offense? REALLY????

If my wife and I are planning on having a couple of drinks, or maybe going out where the option to drink is there, my boy goes to nanna's. I dont want to have to make a decision that night to have to involve my son in a "buzzed" driving activity. Not to say that I would ever drive drunk, but under abnormal circumstances.

Im glad she went to prison, I wish for longer, but hopefully she will sober enough when she gets out to make some good decisions.
