A buddy of mine has a 95 Ram and his hood and roof peeled like crazy after about 10 years. I haven't seen this on the 3rd gen Rams though.
As said, that was because of the primer the companies used. A few colors wouldn't adhere to them. Blue, white, silver were the main colors.

There is a 3rd gen Ram down the street from me with his paint peeling off pretty bad on his hood. Looks like crap. My grandpa has a '92 Silver Ram 250 or whatever they used at that time to denote a 3/4 ton. The truck sat out in the sun for years and hasn't seen a drop of wax since hell, I doubt that I've seen it waxed, and it is peeling to hell. The truck was never repainted until several years ago. Many years ago he was t-boned pulling out of his driveway, and it destroyed the bed and messed some of the passenger side door. The truck was repainted, and a legitimate job was done. But my grandpa for whatever reason doesn't believe in waxing, and the truck sits out in the sun. Once again the paint is peeling off. That's just the power of the sun on unprotected paint.

Nothing can be done to help it aside from repainting it. But you can wax it now to further prevent any other spots from starting to peel.
