Default Fog lights with highbeams

I remember seeing a thread about how to wire the OEM fog lights different so they would stay on with the highbeams, but I cant' seem to find it in the search. Could someone send me the link? BTW I have a 2003 Ram SLT.

Just go to the dealer and have them set it up to work. all they have to do is hook up the scanner and reset it. When I added the Mopar fog lights, I had them set mine up that way.

Problem is that the fogs are a split off the headlight wire that is only 18ga. Your maxing out that wire for power tranfser. Stuff starts to melt after long term abuse A simple bad ground could cause the issue. We all know that happens. But then again how often are you actually running your highbeams anyways? Prob not enough to worry much about it. brief intervals are nothing major. Biggest thing there is a possible popped fuse.

I can't remember without looking at my wiring but it is similar to the picture shown in this thread. What I "DO" remember is that there was an additional wiring change from one contact post to another. The reason for this is to not use the post that is hot with 12 volts all the time but use the post that is the low amperage ground side which is used for your switching parking lights.
I'm pretty sure the photo shown just above is the 'old configuration' which has the 12 volt hot load - look through the threads for a post by schnydz from 9/18/2006. Hope this helps!

I put an inline fuse just for safety sake in mine.
