Default Cup Holders

I have a 2008 2500 HD 6 speed manual and I love it...having said that...

The cup holders do get obscured a bit when youre in 2,4,6.

Also, if you love cup holders then that must mean you like having drinks in your truck, If so, a manual will keep you from having your drink in your hand comfortably all the time. When you have to shift, you really cant be holding a cup. It is a hinderance to me...Im a coffee drinker. Its just a trade off for me.

Just a thought.

Here, here!! I know I love my manual and its what I wanted but having a diesel and it having so much torque at a low rpm...I am shifting a ton and sometimes wonder...knowing what I know now...would I change it?

Maybe...

It does get old for sure! Not to mention that the shifter bounces all over the place when I get busy in the dirt. The ramifications of being directly tied to the transmission! Or maybe I dont know how to drive in the dirt....could be!!

I think the only benefit from a manual transmission these days is of you do alot of heavy hauling or do alot of offroading! If your mostly on the street and occasionally tow, auto is the best way to go! Hell, can't even talk on the phone in comfort while shifting and driving if your going around a turn..etc.. Can't eat a burger is comfort either. Not saying it can't be done, i did it all the time drivin 18wheeler, but ugghh, I never drove my supercharged mustang because I was so sick of shifting! I ended up selling it because of that. A vette is my next venture and you bet it will be an auto. I thought I'd never own an auto vette, but it's so much fun and relaxing never needing to shift, especially if you race or do a few burnouts. The truck manuals allow the tires to bounce all over the road, especially if your not super quick about it. stick and 4x4 is pretty fun i will say, but the rarity in that isn't worth the everyday hassle to me.
