Default 04 Ram 2wd 6"/7" Fabtech Questions

First off, hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I have an 04 Dodge Ram 2wd, 4.7L. I've been dumping money into my Escalade and 2009 Jeep Unlimited, both lifted and lots of aftermarket. I'm finally going to put some money into my truck and give it some attention. Currently it's pretty much stock, I have SRT 10 rims, Original 40 flowmaster, and intake.

I'm putting a 6" or 7" Fabtech lift on it. I was wanting a 6", I know they have one or use to have one. I went to the Fabtech site and they only list a 7", did they stop making the 6". Anyway, I mostly have questions about wheel/tire combos and gearing.

Tires: 35s I'm debating between the DC Fun Countrys in a 35/13.50R20, and the SS Iroks. I know the DCs ride really good on the street. I really like the look of the Iroks though. I'd like something a little more aggressive, but they have to ride good on the street. I have Nittos on my Escalade, and Trxus MTs on my Jeep. Can I go with a 13.50, or do I need to go with a 12.50 with that lift?

Wheels: I want to go with the XD Addicts, 20X9, -12mm offset and 4.53 backspacing, or the Hoss in the same specs. Does anyone know if those should fit with out rubbing, and will they stick out? I want them to stick out and have the aggressive look. It's obviously not going to be used offroad, it's a 2wd, and I have a Jeep for that, so I'm not too worried about rubbing on uneven terrain.

Gearing: Should I change gears in the rear end, or should I go with a programmer? I haven't found much as far as programmers for the 4.7L. It's stock now, and it seems to be geared a little high already, so I can imagine how it's gonna be with 35s, probably a dog. I want to still be able to cruise on the high way at a reasonable RPM, but I want to have decent low end power. If gears would be better, what ratio should I go with?

Last, does anyone already have this lift and similar combo, if so pics would be nice.

Thanks in advance for everyones input and advice!!
Brock

Ok, I'll see if I can dig up some pics. I'm in Afghanistan, so I'll see what I have on my computer. I think it looks good, I put 18s on it. I'll put some pics of my Jeep too.

weedahoe,
Do you know what backspacing and offset I need with a 7" lift? I want to go as wide as possible and I want them to stick out. The cst site says they should be 8" wide rims. I want to go with a 20x9 or a 20x10.

Im not sure about CST as I have Rough Country spindles so my tires are 325/45/24s which are 36" tires. They are on rims that are 5.5" BS and I think +19mm offset. But again, thats with RC spindles and not CSTs

I am running the 6" fabtech lift on my 2wd. The 20x9 or 20x10's should be fine, just make sure you have 4.5" of backspacing. You will probably have to trim the wheel well liner and maybe the front corner off of the bumper to fit the 10" wheels. I am running 325/65r18's and 18x9 -12mm Wheels. They stick out a little and give it a good aggressive stance. Good Luck!

Ok, I know this is an old thread, but I'm still deciding. After doing a million hours of research I think I've decided. I WANT to go with the Fuel Off-road 20x12 hostages and 33" Nitto Mud Grapplers or Super Swamper Iroks. Obviously the 6" Fabtech or the 7" CST lift. I don't mind doing some fender trimming or whatever, but does anyone know if this should work or not?
