well got them to work all i had to do was wire in a resistor like you said but only on the one side driver side low beam wire and splice it into the ground everything is working. but the only thing i went driving last night for the first time and i got flashed 9 time ins the first 12 cars i passed and my highbeams were not on i think they might be to bright and now i look like a jack ***. anything i can do to tone them down or make them aim differently i certaily dont want to be flashed by every car i pass.

weedahoe is exactly right.
You need to simulate the resistance created by the stock headlight bulbs.
HID's do not have this resistance, therefore the PCM on the truck tries to look/hunt for the head lights (the strobing effect), cant find any due to a lack/no resistance, then shuts them down as a protection.
Putting high wattage resistors of a certain value (can't remember value weedahoe might help here) causes a load for the PCM to see and the lights fire right on up.
FYI this resistor mod also cures the "lamp out" light problem
Hope this helps?

Hope that helps you understand it in laymans terms.
FYI...current is not voltage. it is just a result of the voltage produced.
