This morning driving to work samething it felt great, a little busier but not to bad. This afternoon in stop and go traffic was pure HELL. Once I stop the truck if traffic moves up a few car lengths I cant just let off the peddle and let it inch forward, it was like that with the old TB and was because of the high stall converter. So a light tap on the gas with the old one got me moving nice and slowly. With this one, giving it enough gas to get me moving automatically jumps it up to 10mph and I have to slam on my brakes to stop in time. It was like that for about 30min all the way home.

Get off the freeway and get to some traffic lights where Im the first person in line and you punch it and spin the tires and are up to 50mph in a blink of the eye which is great I love that feeling. go to pull into the garage, have to give it a little gas to get it moving and again it jumps up to about 10mph and I have to slam the brakes to stop it before I go through the garage and into my house.... NOT FUN!!!! Im pretty sure it is all because of the TC, or my idle is to low for some reason.

So How do you take off the throttle body plate? I want to take off the knife edge plate and put the stock one on it instead. If that doesn't solve the problem (which I think it will) I will be putting the stock one back on. Im pretty sure it is all because of the high stall TC, or my idle is to low for some reason. Either way I am not driving in rush hour again like that, it is way to dangerous for me and the person in front of me!!!
What you descibe is exactly what the other guys who have the knife edge have described as well, which is why I was curious to see how it reacted for you bc I knew you would give us a thorough review. For some reason it makes the throttle even touchier than it is with just the ported TB. The situations you described will probably be remedied if you change the plate to the stock one like you said.

Hmmm.....that is interesting. Is it something youy think you could get used to and learn to control.

But even if you were going to switch the plates yourself, wouldnt your old TB plate be too small now because the newer TB has been ported?

I do wonder though, before i try to take things apart or send it back for a regular plate, if i were to raise the idle in drive to make up for the lack of movement when i take my foot off the gas would that make it better or worse?

No its most definitely not something I can get use to. Think of lightly tapping your gas to just barely creep up a few feet, it maybe goes 2-3mph right, now think of using that same amount of force on the peddle and having it jump up to 10mph instead of the 2-3mph you are use to.

As far as switching plates it is possible because its not a full bore, its a tapered bore. The plate is the same size as the stock one but it is tapered out to the front of the TB.

I really dont want to have to send it back but the screws on the stocker are stuck and stuck very very tight, to tight for my allen set to handle without stripping them.

Im going to try to play with the idle and see what happens but I will not put my truck on the road if I cannot control it. so if need be I will put the stocker back on and send it in

right. however right now if i take my foot off the gas and ease off the brske from a dead stop i just sit there because of the high stall converter. so to inch forwqrd i have to give it a little gas which s where the problem happens. Now if i set the idle higher it should move forward without hitting the gas. Now just how much faster its going to move i dont know and am about to find out.
