Default Clutch - is it time for a new one?

Guys forgive the noobish question but what is the best indicator of a clutch going bad? It is during the actual shifting while moving?

Because I have recently been having a hard time putting it in 1st or second from neutral when at a red light or a stop sign.. i have to disengage and then reengage the clutch and possibly put in 3rd first because it will not go into 1st or 2nd and i dont want to force it too hard..

After fidgeting with it - it will go in and I will be cool...

During flight - it shifts fine..

Any ideas?

Not familiar with dodge manual tranny's. Are these hydraulic clutches with a reservoir on the master cylinder? I've seen on other vehicles a low fluid cause exactly what you are getting.

It's not a clutch problem. It's a clutch hydraulic system or pilot bearing problem.

Not sure how Dodge is but every other hydraulic clutch ive seen has a slave cylinder in the bell housing.Check under your truck,if the bell housing has oil on it and your resavoir under the hood is low, then the slave cylinder in leaking.Pretty common problem on all newer clutches.
